Tequila produced at Cascahuin (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco, by Maestro Tequilero Salvador ‘Chava’ Rosales Trejo. Harvested from the El Sabino rancho in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, and made from 100% Azul, aka Blue Weber (Agave tequilana). Cooked in masonry steam ovens; crushed using a combination of 70% steel roller mill and 30% traditional stone tahona. Roller-mill-crushed agaves are fermented in stainless steel tanks; tahona-crushed agaves are fermented naturally using ambient yeast in open-air wooden tanks. Distilled twice using stainless steel pot stills. Rested 3 months in ex–bourbon barrels. Verified additive free by Tequila Matchmaker. 46% ABV
The El Sabino rancho is located less than an hour from Teuchitlán, home to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Los Guachimontones—an archaeological site known today for its enormous circular pyramids (as featured in the Lágrimas del Valle logo). Known for its exceedingly high-quality agave, this parcel sits at 1,261 meters above sea level, and the agave yields an impressive 40% brix level at maturity. The 2023 Reposado displays aromas of candied orange peel, brown butter, and a hint of cinnamon with a rich palate highlighting notes of stone fruit and vanilla.
